This was a T.V. show I used to watch when I was a kid, he was a live-action hero, a predecessor of the Power Rangers. Maybe he isn't world famous but he was cool. The show was a good excuse for me to learn how to read (everybody speaks japanese, it has english subtitles). And I still watch the re-runs.
The Kikaida story follows Dr. Komyoji, a brilliant robotics professor who is kidnapped by Professor Gill, the evil ruler of the Dark Demolition Corps. Professor Gill forces Dr. Komyoji to build an army of androids that will assist Professor Gill in his fight for world domination. Secretly, Dr. Komyoji builds Kikaida, a mechanical man capable of defeating the androids from the Dark Demolition Corps. Kikaida's Combat Techniques
Daburu Choppu (Double Chop) - two handed karate chop, which often severed a limb.
Kaiten Attaku (Spinning Attack) - knocks the monster down and punches it repeatedly.
Dai Sharin Nage (Giant Swing Throw) - Kikaida grabs hold of the monster, lifts it up over his shoulder, tossing the monster spinning through the air, to hit hard, on the ground.
Kikaida Kikku (Kikaida Kick) - powerful kick that causes sparks to fly from the monster. First used against Black Crow in episode 35.
Kikaida Nage (Kikaida Throw) - throws monster straight up into the air. Used only once, against Black Crow in episode 35.
Kikaida Supaaku (Kikaida Spark) - white beam. Used only once, against Black Crow in episode 35.
Milky Way Hurricane - flies around enemy, hitting him repeatedly. First used against Hakaida in episode 39.
Denji Endo (Electromagnetic End) - crosses his arms over his chest, jumps into the air, shouts "Denji Endo", moves crossed arms out towards the monster, an electrical charge fries the robotic monster's circuitry. A window breaks, The monster explodes. In the first episode Kikaida clearly says "The End", changing to "Denji Endo" in second episode.

Jiro - Kikaida's human form
Kikaida had a motorcycle that trasnsformed when he did - While in human form the bike was called Sidecar & while in Kikaida form the bike was called Sidemachine. When Kikaida appeared in Kikaida 01, the bike would remain as Sidemachine - even when Kikaida changed to his human form. The bike could fly & ride upon water.
